III NIEDZIELA WIELKIEGO POSTU

„Zbawiciel świata”

     W jednej z przypowieści Jezus opowiada, jak to ojciec, gdy zobaczył powracającego syna marnotrawnego, wybiegł mu naprzeciw, okrył płaszczem, na palec włożył pierścień, wyprawił ucztę, a swojego drugiego syna przekonywał, że cieszyć się należy, iż ten, kto zginął, powrócił.
     Niewiastę cudzołożną obronił przed tymi, którzy chcieli ją zabić, żądaniem: ,, Ten, kto jest bez grzechu, niech pierwszy rzuci kamień „.
     W modlitwie, którą ułożył dla swoich uczniów, zamieścił tekst: „I odpuść nam nasze winy, jako i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom „.
     Z kobietą cudzołożną która przyszła po wodę do studni Jakubowej, rozmawiał. Jak z matką, jak z siostrą, jak z uczennicą bez cienia pogardy.
     Myślę, że za tysiąc lat, gdy chrześcijanie będą starali się nas zrozumieć, to będą z politowaniem kiwać głowami.

3rd Sunday of Lent

”Savior of the World”

     In one of the parables Jesus tells how a father ran out to greet his returning prodigal son, how he covered him with his coat put a ring on his finger, set up a banquet and tried to convince his other son that he should be happy because the one that had been lost came back.
     He defended an adulterous woman against people who wanted to kill her demanding:  „Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”
     He put the following text into prayer, which He created for His disciples:  „And forgive us our trespasses just as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
     He talked to an adulterous woman who came to draw water form Jacob’s well.  He talked with her as he would talk with his mother or sister or a disciple: without a trace of contempt.
     I think that in thousand years when Christians will be attempting to understand us they will just shake their heads with pity.
