47.

I nam – tak jak tym trzem Mędrcom ze Wschodu –
ukazała się gwiazda wiary.
I my – jak oni – niesiemy
mirrę cierpienia,
złoto miłości,
kadzidło uwielbienia. Ale czasem

Gwiazda znika i
zostajemy w ciemności. I
wtedy ciążą nam
w poranionych rękach
niesione dary i rodzi się
pokusa, by je porzucić
za rogiem i pójść
w swoją stronę. A tu trzeba

wierzyć, że Gwiazda
znowu zajaśnieje i,
idąc za nią,
dojdziemy do Jego gospody.

We saw – like the Three Wise Men did –
the Star of faith.
And we carry – like they did –
the myrrh of suffering,
the gold of love,
the incense of worship. But sometimes

The Star disappears and
we are in the darkness. And
the carried gifts are heavier
in our wounded hands. And
the temptation grows
to leave them
round the corner and go
your own way. But then

we still have to believe that
the Star will shine again
and following it,
we will reach His place.
