UROCZYSTOŚĆ BOŻEGO CIAŁA

Dał im

     We Mszy Jezus bierze Chleb, podaje go tobie i mówi:
„Bierz. To jest moje Ciało. Kocham cię”. Potem bierze Kielich i podaje go tobie, mówiąc: „Bierz. To jest moja Krew. Kocham cię”.
     Tak mówi do każdego z nas osobiście.

I

U ciebie urządzić Paschę

     To była Pascha. Każdy Izraelita, dzisiaj świętując Paschę, czuje się tak jak jego praojciec, który został uwolniony przez Boga z niewoli egipskiej.
     Eucharystia to jest Pascha Nowego Testamentu. Każdy chrześcijan, uczestnicząc w niej, czuje się obdarowany miłością Jezusa. Tak jak apostołowie, którzy świętowali z Nim Ostatnią Wieczerzę.

II

Żal mi tego ludu

     Gdy uczniowie zwrócili się do Jezusa, co robić z rzeszą głodnych ludzi, Jezus im odpowiedział: Wy dajcie im jeść.
Również my jesteśmy adresatami tych słów. Chrześcijanin jest zobowiązany, ażeby dawać głodnym jeść.

III

Poznali Go

     Dlaczego Kleofas ani jego towarzysz nie poznali Jezusa wcześniej? Przecież szedł z nimi kilka godzin. Twarz miał zmienioną? Głos miał zmieniony? Był taki sam, ten sam.
     Dlaczego Go poznali dopiero przy łamaniu chleba? Przecież nie byli z Nim podczas Ostatniej Wieczerzy.

IV

Aby stanowili jedno

     Jezus dopomina się wielokrotnie, abyśmy stanowili jedno.
     Ale jak można stanowić jedno, jeżeli każdy z nas jest inny?
     A jednak można. Przez szacunek wzajemny, tolerancję, życzliwość, przebaczenie. Mamy stanowić jedno. W rodzinie, w klasztorze, w szkole, w zakładzie pracy, w narodzie, w świecie.

SOLEMNITY OF BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

     During the Holy Mass Jesus takes the bread, hands it to you and says: “Take it.  This is my Body.  I love you”.  Then He takes the Cup, hands it to you and says: “Take it.  This is my Blood.  I love you”.
 This is what He says to each and every one of us, personally.

I

I want to have Passover in your house

     It was Passover.  Every Israeli celebrating Passover today, feels just like his great-great-grandfather did, when he was brought forth out of the land of Egypt. 
     Eucharist is a Passion of New Testament.  Every Christian participating in it feels endowed with Jesus’ love.  Just like the apostles who celebrated the Last Supper with Him did.

II

I feel compassion for these people

     When the disciples turned to Jesus asking what to do about the hungry crowd, Jesus answered them: You yourselves must give them food.
     We are also the addressees of these words.  A Christian has an obligation to give food to the hungry.

III

They recognized Him

     Why didn’t Cleophas and his companion recognize Jesus earlier?  He did walk with them for few hours, didn’t He?  Was His face changed?  Was His voice different?  He was the same, the same one.
     Why did they recognize Him in the breaking of the bread?  Yet they were not with Him during the Last Supper.

IV

So that they may be one

     Many times Jesus demands that we may be one.
     But how can we become one, if everyone of us is different? 
     And yet we can; through mutual tolerance, kindness, and forgiveness.  We are supposed to become one; in the family, in the convent, at school, at work, in the nation, in the world.
