11th Sunday of ordinary Time
Celebration of the Most Holly Trinity
"They saw Him"
At the moment of his death Jesus found Himself in heaven.
But then he appeared to the apostles so that they could believe in the Gospel to the end. He showed himself to them so that they would believe in what he had proclaimed. He did not want them to think that God had rejected him by allowing his crucifixion.
Saint Paul says: "He appeared to the apostles and in the end he also appeared to me".
And then he appeared and still appears to various people: to Saint Anthony, for example, as a Baby. He showed the mystery of His Heart to Saint Mary Margaret Alacoque. He showed Himself as Jesus the Merciful to Saint Faustina Kowalska.
Maybe someday He will show himself to you, in a dream or in reality. You might say: "I am not a saint." Maybe He will show Himself to you so that you could become a saint?
Sometimes he appears to us as if in the fog, as if through a frosted glass, as if through a wall. We feel him sometimes - although we don't see him - within our reach. Sometimes we only feel that he is next to us.
Let him appear to us. Let him show us the way. Let him say - what he had already said once in the Gospel. Let him talk and point out what is important to us.
