19th Sunday of Ordinary Time
"Bread of Life"
They lie to us, cheat us, and misinform us. They throw at us alternate subjects to take our attention away from important issues. They direct us towards unimportant details, while right next to us the whole forest is on fire. They manipulate our feelings, emotions, values and views in all areas. Depending on where their business lies, they display in front of our eyes either the visions of heaven on earth or the depths of hell.
And we are so thirsty for the truth - like pilgrims in the desert, hungry for the truth - like paupers dreaming of a piece of bread.
We cry for the truth, we demand it, thinking that we have right to hear the truth - painful or joyful, hard or comfortable and soft like fluff. '
Only thinking that way, we tend to make a mistake, because the truth is never served on the platter. Truth is a human reality and one has to fight for it all the time, pursue it, search for it, strive for it and take care of it, realizing however, that here on Earth we will never take the full possession of it.
