He saw and believed
Easter Sunday. Crushed by the tragedy of Good Friday we stayed at home with Peter. Until Mary Magdalene woke us up when she burst in shouting: They have taken my Lord away and I don't know where they have put him!
At this we sprang up and ran to the tomb.
We came there before Peter did. We did not go inside, but we waited for him. Finally he arrived. And he entered the tomb. He saw the cloth lying there and the face cloth that had covered his head which was folded separately.
Then we entered, too. We saw and the sun within us exploded. Everything all of a sudden has become simple, self evident, and clear. Of course he was raised from the dead; just like he had announced so many times during our wandering through Galilee, Judea, and Samaria. And we used to think that it was some kind of parable which we were not able to fully understand. But He really was raised from the dead.
